Wel mother I take my seat this norning to let you now that we are well at present and hope that these few lines will find you in joying the same blessing we rit severl letters while we was at parkersburg we left there the third of this month and went to clarksburg we stayed there until last saterday we came here about on hunaird men from clarksburg when we got here there was six regiments here there is between nine and ten thousand solgers here now and there is still more a coming we expect a batel here soon we are fixt for them thaire is a good forte here they have ben warking at it ever since the ware had broke out we are camped in a nise valley with mountans on every side I was acrost the river this morning in to meriland a geting grapes and persimens tnaire is plenty ov them here in the mountans it has ben raining all morning so we couldnt drill eny wel mother I thought I wed right a fue lines and let you now how we ar giting along we have ben well ever since we left home and we are in campet between the alagania montans in a nice vala I yoush you had some of the nice oine and seder shrubes that ar here we have them set a round or tentes & they look very nice there is ten regiments here there is twenty thre cannon here on caverly & stil more coming here there is talk of a fight here with jaxon but I dont think he wal come nere here for we wating for him and wil give him the best trim in the shop wel I must bring my letter to a close give my love to al in quiring friends George Overpack
