Letter 2 — January 30, 1861
“I thought you had forgot us or you would a wrote sooner”
I will write you a few lines to let you know that I am well at present and go to school every day, I like to go very well. I would like to see you so well if I could, often think of you. Bill treated us to fourteen pounds of candy, we had a good time. I tell you I thought you had forgot us or you would a wrote sooner. I want you to write soon. Please excuse my bad writing and paper. Remember me, I must bring my letter to a close. Hurrah for Cincin
