Letter 25 — December 19, 1871
“Leide says for you to come up a New Years, we would have a turkey roast.”
I seat myself to let you know that I am well except a bad cold. I have been to a temperance sermon today at Pleasant Hill. Reubens have moved up on the Coles place. The little baby can walk but the big one can not walk unless some one has it by the hand. Louisa has her baby, it is doing well now. Lu Hause is still at Crabills. Uncle Toms folks are all well. I got that paper that you sent me. Leide says for you to come up a New Years, we would have a turkey roast. Adam's folks are going to have a oyster supper a Christmas night, I have got a bid. Well I must bring my letter to a close for this time, so good bye. Write soon.
I wish you a happy Christmas and a glad New Year
