Letter 49 June 15, 1875

“You had better come up and eat fried chicken, Ellie has 125 young chickens”

I seat myself to let you know that we are all well hoping when these few lines reach you that they may find you the same. It is raining here today so I had to quit plowing corn, I thought I would write. We was over at Uncle Tom's last Sunday, they was all well. John and Fannie have parted for good, she has got her divorce. Pierce and Nan have protracted meeting, he has been on hand ever since Sunday. We had our girl at Sunday School a Sunday, we have got short clothes on her. You had better come up and eat fried chicken, Ellie has 125 young chickens. Ellie sends her love to you. Must excuse my scribling, I can hardly write with my pen. Well I can think of no more to write this time. So good bye, write soon. Our love to Mr King.
