Dear Muther I am hapey to in forme that I am well and hope when these few lines come to hand they may find you and all the rest ove the frends enjoying the same blesing George is at Sitey Point a duing dutey at the Sixth Corps Hospitel he has ben thare about Two weaks he likes it beter than to be at the regamnet I havent sean him since he went down thaire bu I her from him every day or two the Chaplin goes to the Point a bout twist a weak I can here frome him then Wheler Collins and two or three uthers ov the regamnt is thair with him we have had verey nise wether here this winter we are closte a nuf to the Rebs to sea thare camp the Pickets are close a nuf to talk to gether they dont firer at each uther on ouer part of the line the Rebs say that they cant hold out much longer they ayre dezerting as fast as they can they will avrage about one hudred a day fore the last month and them that cums in say that there is more dezerts and goes home than comes in to ower lines well muther the pay master wase here last weak and payed us of
