Letter 31 — May the 20, 1872
“He was at church and went home and laid down while they got dinner, when they went to call him he was dead.”
I seat myself to inform you that I am well at present hoping when these few lines reach you they may find you the same. Mr. Milton Miller is dead. He died last Sunday week. He was at church and went home and laid down while they got dinner, when they went to call him he was dead. He had not been sick before. Grandpa Ernst is not expected to live now, he was taken sick last Friday. Annie McBride is learning the dress making trade with Eve Wirick. Neal Ginavan lives where Reuben lived. He helps me to tend the farm. We have a good Sunday School at Pleasant Hill this summer. Well I must bring my letter to a close for this time. So good bye., Write soon.
