Letter 39 April 25th 1873

“I like my home very well. I was up to Urbana last Wednesday and got me a buggy.”

I seat myself to let you know that I am well at present, hoping when these few lines reach you that they will find you the same. It has been snowing here pretty hard all forenoon. Jerry's thumb has not got well yet. Dora is still hollering yet. Lide is not very well, she has such a sore throat. Cal has not had her sale yet. She is going to have it next Monday. She is going to move over to the old house. The darkey would not move out of the one on the road. I like my home very well. I was up to Urbana last Wednesday and got me a buggy. I paid one hundred and sixty-five dollars for it. We are having a very good Sabbath School. We have got a new organ for it. Lide Wallace has lost her driving horse, old Sal. She died last Saturday. Well I must bring my letter to a close for this time. Ellie sends her love to you. So good bye. Write soon.
