Letter 59 April 8, 1877

“his heart was as large as two”

I seat myself to let you know how we are. We are all well but Ellie she still has rheumatism. We have moved, the second of the month, We live near Hunters School house where Mr Greiner lived. I rented the house and stable and buildings and ten acres of ground for a year for $120. I could not find any farm to suit me. John Arbogast is dead, he died last Thursday week, he took sick at three o'clock in the morning and died before four. They had him examined, they said it was heart disease, his heart was as large as two. My best colt died for me, it had distemper and then took lung fever. It was nearly large enough to work, I would not took a hundred dollars for it. Ellie says tell you she has got her new carpet down. We would like for you to come up as soon as you can and see us. We left Rove over at the old place. I have wrote all the news I can think of for this time, so good bye. Write soon.
